FREE resources & WRITINGS for Yoga Teachers, Students & movers
If you are searching for thoughtful writing on yoga, somatic practice, mindfulness and philosophy, this space gathers Jean Hall’s reflections, explorations and teaching insights. These essays are intended for interested movers, teachers and dedicated students who wish to deepen their understanding beyond posture and technique.
Rather than offering quick answers, these writings explore the subtle body, inner alchemy, nervous system awareness and the philosophical roots of practice and being human!
The Vagus Nerve, Breath and Movement in Yoga
Our body is constantly adapting to the world around us. At the centre of this process is the vagus nerve - a vital communication pathway linking the brain with the heart, lungs, digestive system and many of our other internal organs. Research into this system is still developing, but it consistently points to one theme: breath, movement and awareness all influence how the nervous system regulates itself. Yoga has worked with these same principles for centuries, long before they had a name.
Complimentary Resources
Alongside these reflections, I’ve included a small collection of complimentary practices as a gentle introduction to the work. They offer a felt sense of how breath, somatic awareness and subtle energetic attention come together in yoga practice. You’re warmly invited to download them, take your time, and explore at your own pace, simply noticing what unfolds.
